Since
the early 70's until now many important discoveries have been
done in the research for a cure and a treatment for Friedreich's
Ataxia. New developments are actually taking place and are offering
promising results for the future.
It is not without the dedication and hard work of a man that such
realizations could have been achieved. This man is Claude St-Jean,
president and founder of the ACAF
(Canadian Association for Familial Ataxias). In order to pay homage
to this wonderful person we are honored to announce the kick off
of "Amare Amare Run"
Indeed,
in June 2008, one person will run across Canada and stop in some
of the major cities in order to give a greater visibility to the
upcoming event and to inform people about the disease and the
ACAf’s goals
and aspirations. It is important to raise money so they can pursue
the mission started years ago by Claude St-Jean in trying to find
a cure for Friedreich’s Ataxia.
